Work at Height - Half Day
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 applies to all work at height where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause injury. The Regulations place duties on employers, the self-employed, and any person that controls the work of others (for example, facilities managers or building owners who may contract others to work at height).
Who should attend?
The Work at Height Awareness course is suitable for anyone who is likely to be involved in working at height or for people who manage, allocate or schedule work at height. Including, Managers, Supervisors, Roofers, Scaffolders, Decorators, Joiners, Plumbers, Electricians, Labourers, etc.
What you will learn
This course will identify the hazards of working at height and the suitable control methods that should be applied to prevent injury and or loss of life.
Course content
- What is ‘Working at Height’?
- Work at Height Legislation
- Types and causes of accidents when working at height
- Employer/employees’ responsibilities
- How to work at height safely
- Risk assessments, method statements and permits to work
- Types of access equipment
- Personal protective equipment including Harness, lanyards and anchor points
- Practical ladder inspection
Course duration
The course is usually held over half a day totalling 4hrs including coffee breaks. The course is either held on client’s premises, and delivered specifically for their employees or, delivered at Bridge Safety and Training premises.
Assessment and certification
Assessment is a 15 question multiple choice assessment paper. Upon successful completion, delegates receive a Work at Height Awareness certificate
