SHEA (Safety Health and Environment Awareness)

 

National Water Hygiene

 

Who should attend?

This 4 hr course is suitable for anybody working in the potable water industry such as water companies, contractors & sub contractors.

 

What you will learn

The course is designed to provide a UK wide understanding of water hygiene, health & basic procedures in compliance with The Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000

 

Course content

- Health screening

- Awareness training

- Hygiene awareness training and testing

- Waterborne diseases and steps to take in the event of an illness

- Procedural & equipment requirements for clean water working

 

Assessment and certification

Assessment is in the form of a 25 question paper. Upon successful completion delegates receive 3 years registration on the Utilities Sector National Water Hygiene Scheme.

 


 

Utilities Sector Safety Health & Environmental Awareness (SHEA)  -  Core

 

Who should attend?

This 5 hr course is suitable for anyone working in the water utility and construction industry

 

What you will learn

To provide a basic knowledge and understanding of Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and its application in the workplace.This course is CSCS affiliated.

 

Course content

The course is made up of 7 core modules entitled;

- You and the Law

- Hazards to your Health

- Protecting Yourself

- Working Environment

- Our Environment

- Incident Procedures

- Equipment

 


 

Utilities Sector Safety Health & Environmental Awareness (SHEA)  - Water

 

Who should attend?

This 7hr course is designed for all persons involved in the operational activities of the water industry who require access to sites, both permanent and temporary, including all levels of operatives, supervisors and management.

 

What you will learn

This course is designed to provide a basic knowledge and understanding of Safety, Health and Environmental Legislation and it's application in the water network.

Assessment and certification

Assessment is in the form of a 70 multiple choice question paper split into modules. Successful candidates are awarded a Utility SHEA (Water) card and 3 year registration onto the Utility Sector Safety Health and Environmental Registration Scheme. The training course is an affiliate of CSCS and displays the CSCS logo on the registration card.
