Who should attend?
This 4 hr course is suitable for anybody working in the potable water industry such as water companies, contractors & sub contractors.
What you will learn
The course is designed to provide to provide a basic knowledge and understanding of disinfection of water mains incompliance withThe Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000
Course content
- Disinfection of New Water Mains
- Disinfection of Existing Water Mains
- Disinfection of water mains following a burst repair
- Disinfection of Service Pipes
- Safe use and disposal of chlorine for disinfection
Assessment and certification
Assessment is in the form of a 25 Q written paper. Upon successful completion of the course delegates are awarded a certificate of attendance.
Valving and Water Quality Sampling Awareness
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for anybody working in the potable water industry such as water companies and in particular water network operatives who may be required to carry out valving, water quality sampling or related tasks. The duration of the course will depend on delegate numbers due to Individual practical assessments.
What you will learn
This course has been designed to provide a basic knowledge of Water Quality Sampling direct from Water Mains in compliance with The Water Supply Water Quality Regulations 2000.
Course content
Classroom theory
- Hydrant operation
- The safe use and disposal of chlorine for disinfection
- Disinfection of a 2.5” standpipe
- Sampling the Water Supply
Practical
- Disinfection of the hydrant & 2.5” standpipe
- Water Quality sampling in compliance with The Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000.
Assessment and certification
Delegates are practically assessed at the hydrant. Upon successful completion a certificate of attendance is awarded.
Water Quality Sampling
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for anybody working in the potable water industry in particular Water Quality Samplers and Network Operatives who carry out water quality sampling and related tasks. The duration of the course will depend on delegate numbers due to Individual practical assessments.

Assessment and certification
Delegates are practically assessed at the kitchen tap. Upon successful completion a certificate of attendance is awarded.
