Legionella Awareness - Half Day
Legionella is responsible for over 600 avoidable deaths in the UK every year and there are laws to protect people. The Legionella Awareness course will provide the delegate with all the necessary information.
Who should attend?
The Legionella Awareness course is suitable for anyone engaged in facilities management, construction, maintenance, and renovation of property. In particular, plumbers, hoteliers, owners or managers in a residential care setting or facility managers with responsibility for buildings with public access.
What you will learn
This course will give you all the necessary information about Legionella and provide information on how to prevent legionella in a non domestic premise.
Course content
- What is legionella?
- How do people get legionnaires disease?
- Who are the people likely to die from exposure to Legionella?
- What are the laws that govern legionella?
- The penalties of getting it wrong
- How to carry out a risk assessment
- How can legionella be prevented
- How to prepare a management plan
Course duration
The course is usually held over half a day totalling 4hrs including coffee breaks. The course is either held on client’s premises, and delivered specifically for their employees or, delivered at Bridge Safety and Training premises.
Assessment and certification
Assessment is a 15 question multiple choice assessment paper. Upon successful completion, delegates receive Legionella Awareness certification
