The 3 day IOSH Supervising Safely course is designed for anyone with a supervisory function in their role who needs the knowledge and skills to allow them to comply with their health and safety responsibilities.

IOSH Supervising Safely is for anyone with a supervisory aspect to their role, across all industries and organisations.

 

What you will learn

Supervising safely is designed to give the delegate an understanding of how to assist managers and directors to create and implement a safe and healthy working environment.

           

Course content

- The supervisor's role.

- Hazards, risks and control measures.

- The process and practical application of risk assessments

- Understanding of legal duties, responsibilities and requirements

- Establish and maintain safe systems of work   

- Prevention and reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses

- Improving safety performance.

- Inspections

- Communication.

- Co-ordinating contractors

- Human factors and the prevention of human error

- Environmental awareness.

 

Course duration

The course is delivered over three days totalling 24hrs including coffee breaks. The course is either held on client’s premises, and delivered specifically for their employees or, delivered at Bridge Safety and Training premises.

 

Assessment and certification

IOSH Supervising Safely is assessed by a multiple choice exam and a short practical assessment. The assessment takes place on the final day of the course. Certification is awarded upon successful completion of the course.
