Level 2 Food Safety in Catering - 1 Day

The Ofqual Level 2 Food Safety in Catering is designed for everyone who works with food as they  has a special responsibility for safeguarding the health of consumers and to ensure that the food they serve or sell is perfectly safe to eat.

 

Who should attend?

This course has been designed for anyone working in a catering, manufacturing or a retail setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled.  Typical environments may include: pubs, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets and retail environments. Food and drink manufacturers, hospitals, care homes, schools and prisons.

 

What you will learn

Candidates gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, cooking, service and handling of food. Its topics are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to maintaining good practice in the production of safe food.

- Microbiological Hazards

- Food Poisoning and its Control

- Contamination Hazards and Controls

- HACCP from Purchase to Service

- Food Handlers and Personal Hygiene

- Food Premises and Equipment

- Food Pests and Control

- Cleaning and Disinfection

- Food Safety Enforcement

 

Course duration

The course is delivered over one day totalling 8hrs including coffee breaks. The course is either held on client’s premises, and delivered specifically for their employees or, delivered at Bridge Safety and Training premises.

 

Assessment and certification

Assessment is in the form of a 30 question multiple-choice examination. Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 20/30. Upon successful completion candidates are awarded with certification.
