HSE First Aid at Work Requalification - 2 Day

The 2 day requalification course will allow you to update your First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification. The re-qualification course must take place within the 6 months prior to your FAW qualification expiring; otherwise you must retake the full 3 day FAW course.

This course fulfils the requirement of The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.



Who should attend?

This course is for individuals who already hold the 3 day First Aid at Work qualification, but which is in the last 6 months before expiry. The 2 day Re-qualification will allow you to update your FAW for a further 3 years.

- Wounds and Bleeding
- Bites and Stings
- Disorders of Consciousness inc epilepsy
- Foreign objects
- Burns and Scalds
- Bones, Joints and Muscle Injuries
- Poisoning
- Effects of Heat and Cold
- Child and Baby Basic Life Support

Course duration
The course is usually held over two consecutive days totalling 16hrs including coffee and lunch breaks however, we can tailor courses to meet your specific needs. The course is normally held at Bridge Safety and Training premises although, if required we can deliver the course at the client’s premises specifically for their employees.

Assessment and certification

Assessment of the course is both written and practical. Upon successful completion, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practise for a further three years after which, a re-qualification course becomes necessary. It is strongly recommended by the HSE that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher.
